Revive and Ride
Crofton Bike Doctor's Revive and Ride
"Revive and Ride: Restoring Bicycles, One Recovery at a Time"
We offer two options for your used bicycles.
- Trade In: Trade in your old bike for a healthier, happier ride.
- Used Bicycle Purchase: Restoring Bicycles, One Recovery at a Time.
Crofton Bike Doctor in general will accept trade in bicycles that are bicycle shop quality bicycles.
Kid's Bikes are excluded from this trade in program, but we do accept them for trade in through our Youth Trade In Program.
How it Works:
- Bring your Bicycle in for evaluation.
- We’ll make you an offer for purchase or trade in.
- Complete some paperwork
How much is my used bike worth?
A Tech Center mechanic will check over your bike and provide a value. BicycleBlueBook.com will be utilized as a guide for evaluation.
You receive payment via a Crofton Bike Doctor Gift Card and may be used towards any purchase at the store at any time. Gift Cards are treated like cash, and do not expire.
How Will a Bike's Condition Be Evaluated?
The condition of the trade in bicycle, will affect the value of the trade in. A full, in-person inspection by a Tech Center employee will be completed to verify the condition before the trade in value is provided.
The evaluation will assess the condition of the following systems:
- Frame
- Wheels
- Drivetrain
- Brakes
- Rubber
- Grips
- Saddle
If replacement parts are required for resale, the cost of the repairs may affect the final trade-in value of the bike.
What Bikes Will Be Accepted?
In general, most bikes originally purchased from a bike shop and in working condition are eligible for the Revive and Ride Trade-In program.
Brands we don’t accept are mass merchant brands, some examples but not limited to Huffy, Murray, Magna, Next
To do our part to fight bike theft and for your security, we will require the following to process a trade-in:
- Valid driver's license
- Bike Serial number must not be defaced or destroyed
- A review of Bike Index
Having a proof of purchase is very helpful.
We reserve the right to deny a trade in for any bike in poor condition
Trade-In Fine Print
Some things to review before you load up you bicycle and come visit us:
- All initial valuations will be based on the BicycleBlueBook.com database. For bikes that are not able to be evaluated utilizing this database, the valuation will be made based on our experience.
- All valuations assume all stock-componentry. Modifications, upgrades/downgrades from the original specification will be taken into account.
- Final value, determined by a trained mechanic, using Bicycle Blue Book valuation as well as the condition of the bicycle.
- Certain bikes may not qualify for resale. Generally, bikes originally purchased from a bicycle store are acceptable, while most mass merchant/department store bikes, and will not qualify for resale and will not be eligible for trade-in. A few examples of brands that fall into this category: Huffy, Magna, Next, Murray
- Trade-in value is placed onto a Crofton Bike Doctor gift card, which can be used immediately or saved for later. Gift cards do not expire and should be treated as cash. They are only valid at Crofton Bike Doctor
- Lost gift cards will not be replaced.
- If you have a proof of purchase, bring it along, it is very helpful.
