LOCATION: Crofton Bike Doctor 2616A Chapel Lake Drive Gambrills, MD 21054

All food collected will be donated to the Crofton Christian Caring Council Food Pantry.

How does Cranksgiving work?

When you check in, you will be handed a manifest. On the manifest is a list of grocery stores and food items to purchase, each worth a certain number of points. The team with the highest number of points wins.  The ride will begin at 1pm and only teams who turn in their manifests, receipts and food by 3pm will be considered for prizes. Then stick around for the after party, where we'll announce the winners and prizes, hold a raffle for participants (Your points will also be used to earn raffle tickets), share stories and celebrate with drinks and food!

Cranksgiving Steps

  1. Check in and get your Manifest.
  2. Ride your bike to one, two or three of the grocery stores on the list.
  3. Buy as many food items off the manifest as you choose.
  4. Bring those items back to the store by bike.
  5. We’ll award raffle tickets based on the food you brought back.
  6. Stay for the raffle and the food.

What should I bring?

  • Working bike
  • Helmet (required)
  • Lock
  • Bag to carry purchases (backpacks, panniers, baskets, bicycle trailer — whatever you have!)
  • Money for purchasing items we will donate.

What if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event.

What does it cost to participate?

Registration is free. We do ask that each person bring $10 -15 to spend on items to donate but what you spend is entirely up to you.

What is the route?

That is part of the fun. You can choose your route to the grocery stores on the route.

We do have a recommended route for the families to participate. It is an out and back route of about 8 miles. It primarily uses community roads but the route is completely up to you.

About the Crofton Christian Caring Council

The Crofton Christian Caring Council (CCCC), is an emergency assistance outreach for people residing in Crofton, Gambrills, Crownsville, Millersville, and Odenton, providing limited funding for rent, utilities, and prescriptions. In addition, member churches support a Food Pantry and a Baby Pantry.

It is a group of churches working together, with representation from each church on a volunteer Board of Directors. Funds come from donations made by individuals, churches, and civic groups.
